Day-2 in Lombok, I went to Gili Trawangan by boat. During the trip I enjoyed the calm waves of the sea and the view of Mount Rinjani. These landscapes made this trip such an unforgettable adventure.
The boat had a glass section to see under the sea. So during the trip, we were able to explore and enjoy the amazing underwater life. The colorful coral reefs and tropical fish fascinated me, a wonderful moment for me who can’t snorkel.
In Gili Trawangan, I was greeted by white sand, sea water and a lively island atmosphere. I walked along the beach, enjoying the incredible view of Gili Trawangan.
Here I share fun activities that you can do in Gili Trawangan based on my experience
1. Cycling Around
I rented a bike for a tour in Gili Trawangan. I explored the sand, enjoyed the silence, listened to the sound of the waves from far, and felt the freedom. Besides that I also went to some villages. I felt the difference between a touristy area and some villages of locals.
The situation of local villages was silent and calm. There were many farm, garden, and traditional stores.
In tourism area which was near the shoreline, I heard music everywhere, found aesthetic cafés and modern stores.
2. Snorkeling
While in Gili Trawangan, you can snorkel under the sea. There you can see coral gardens, vibrant fish, and turtles. If you can’t really swim, don’t worry, there’s a lot of local guides who will help you and provide you snorkeling tools.
3. Sunset
In the evening, you can enjoy the sunset. Watching the sun set beneath the waves was my peaceful daily ritual there. The sky radiated golden light above the horizon.
4. Andong Adventure
If you don’t feel like cycling, you can seek a unique way to explore the island, like riding andong, a traditional vehicle pulled by horses, We can enjoy the beauty island by sitting relaxed in andong.
5. Culinary tour
When going somewhere, don’t forget to go on a culinary tour. There were many delicious and special menus in Gili Trawangan. The seafood was very delicious, it deserved a chef’s kiss. You can find a lot of seafood in the evening in the tradtional night market. They sell fresh seafood, like squid, shrimp, oyster, etc.
6. Enjoying the Beach
The beach whispered tales of tranquility, there was a dance of waves that rhythmically set the symphony, the breeze brought the scent of salt and adventure. Every moment on the beach was pleasant. Gili Trawangan, a unique tourist spot.
