Sukomakmur Village is located in Magelang Regency, not too far from the city center. To get there, people usually use motorcycle taxis or private vehicles. Some of the roads are smooth, while others are dirt.
I went there by motorcycle taxi, because to truly experience this village, you have to come with the wind on your face, the road trembling under your wheels, and a heart ready to be softened by the silence.
The journey to Sukomakmur is not a gentle one. The roads twist, climb, curve, and descend. Yet every turn carved something deep into my chest. The motorbike trembled softly, pushing forward, and ahead of us the mountains grew larger and larger.
Then, slowly, the view began to open, slowly and gracefully, like a curtain opening after years of being closed. Rice terraces stretched across the hills in stunning layers.
A Village Embraced by Mountains
When I finally arrived, I felt as though I had stepped into a painting. Mount Sumbing rose tall and unwavering, majestic and unshaken. Clouds circled its shoulders, tame and loyal, like companions who never wander too far.
The houses in Sukomakmur stand quiet, simple, and warm. Their walls hold stories: children’s laughter, the morning routines of farmers, the aroma of coffee brewed by elders as they wait for the sun to spill its first light onto the earth.

- Local products like homemade coffee and bamboo crafts.
Sukomakmur may never become a viral destination. And perhaps that is exactly how it should be. A good place does not always need crowds. Beauty is not only what the eyes can see, but what the mind can understand, and what the heart is quietly touched by.

If Sukomakmur ever develops, the real challenge will be maintaining narrative control so visibility doesn’t erase value. This piece already does part of that work by framing the village as an experience, not a commodity.

Cakep banget pemandangannya mbak. kebun sayur dengan latar belakang gunung. Tapi aku mikir aman nggak ya kawasan perbukitan jadi kebun sayur semua tanpa ada pohon tinggi kaya gini? This is a dream destination of my life. Although we’re both same live in a village, but we must go there to enjoy beautifullness of Sukamakmur Village. I want to talk to the farmers, learn about farming and sharing bout life, happily ever after in a village. Hehe.
